Saudi Tabreed awarded the district cooling concession agreement for King Salman Park Foundation
Saudi Tabreed, a leading provider of District Cooling services on BOOT basis has signed a contract with the King Salman Park Foundation to provide cooling services for the King Salman Park, one of Riyadh’s megaprojects launched by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdulaziz. As per the scope of the 25-year contract, 60,000TR will be provided starting from the completion of the cooling plant’s construction, while 20,000TR will be allocated for the First Phase of the project.
Covering an area of 16km2, King Salman Park is set to become one of the largest urban parks in the world to offer a wide range of quality activities for the city’s residents and visitors. The Park will include vast greenery with a million trees and open areas, covering more than 11.6km2 It will also include the Royal Art Complex, a 7.5km circular walkway and a “Wadi” at the center of the park, as well as water features and iconic artworks and landmarks. The Park will contribute significantly to increasing the vegetation in the region and raising the rate of per capita green spaces, which will positively impact the environment and the climate.

Eng. Al-Khilwi also pointed out that working on BOOT basis to provide the latest cooling and air-conditioning systems through a centralized plant will greatly reduce the power generation requirements and electricity consumption in addition to decreasing the effects of global warming and limiting the areas require conventional air-conditioning.
